Professor Talmadge is the Executive Director of the nonprofit organization, Promoting Education for Lifelong Learning (PELL), Inc. and he is employed at the University of New Orleans in the field of mathematics education.
Dr. Talmadge took his BS degree in Physics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC) and then his PhD in Applied Mathematics from North Carolina State University (NCSU). His primary research interests are in applications of differential geometry to the field of theoretical physics. His interests in the field of mathematics education lie primarily in the design of effective learning experiences, especially those that utilize microcomputer technology.
Dr. Talmadge also teaches mathematical modeling at Metairie Park Country Day School (MPCDS) and he serves on the editorial staff of the Louisiana Association of Teachers of Mathematics Journal.
